CES 2025: The Tech Trends of Tomorrow

Like every year, 2025 will start with a bang from the world of tech. From January 7th to the 10th, leading manufacturers, developers, and innovators will come together for CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas to show off the most important trends and futuristic technologies. Here, we would like to show our fans the most exciting innovations in audio and home cinema from CES 2025.

TV Highlights from CES 2025: Bigger, Smarter, Brighter

Like last year, AI is the central topic of CES 2025. The television segment in particular provided many thrilling innovations. Manufacturers such as LG and Samsung integrated smart image optimization, dynamic acoustic control, and personalized recommendations to make the TV experience more intuitive and individualized than ever before. TCL and Hisense are presenting models over 100 inches in diagonal, making inroads into size categories previously only reachable by home cinema projectors.

Premium models in the midrange are also getting a boost. LG relies on innovative Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology for its 83-inch OLED TVs, which ensures greater brightness and stronger contrasts. Samsung, on the other hand, uses QD OLED panels of the same size.

The New HDMI Standard: More Bandwidth for Crystal Clear Images

While HDMI 2.1 already enables 4K at 120 Hz and 8K at 60 Hz, the new version should offer even higher resolutions and refresh rates – possibly up to 12K and 144 Hz. The bandwidth should also be significantly higher than the previous 48 Gbit/s. The upgrade is particularly exciting for gamers and home cinema enthusiasts: smoother images, razor-sharp details and impressive color brilliance could take the gaming experience to a new level. However, a new HDMI cable will probably be required for full performance. The good news is that the new standard is likely to remain backwards compatible and will integrate seamlessly into existing devices.

The future of 3D sound: Audioscenic Amphi Hi-D and Samsung’s Eclipsa Audio challenge Dolby Atmos

Surround and 3D sound are in high demand, but still not a matter of course in the living room. The reason? The speaker setups are usually quite complex to set up and take up a lot of space. With FlexConnect technology, Dolby Atmos is trying to solve this problem by allowing the speakers to be positioned more flexibly in the room. However, FlexConnect has not yet made it onto the broader market.

But Dolby is not the only player working on more flexible audio solutions. Audiscenic’s Amphi Hi-D technology also promises impressive 3D sound – no matter where you sit in the room. Unlike Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, however, Amphi Hi-D is initially focused on laptops and gaming displays. An exciting approach that shows: Immersive sound could soon be possible without complex setups.

Samsung and Google are following suit: The two tech giants have developed their own 3D audio format, Eclipsa Audio, which not only promises impressive surround sound, but is also license-free and open source. This could save manufacturers money in the future, while users benefit from a more accessible 3D sound experience. Initially, Eclipsa Audio will be available exclusively on Samsung’s 2025 TV and soundbar models – an exciting step that shows that immersive sound could soon be flexible and flexible: Immersive sound could soon become more flexible, affordable and accessible.
